Eyewitness
is defined as being a witness to the happening of events…. So
we are his eyewitness and his servant in message through song. Eyewitness
is a compilation of talent from Bluegrass to Southern
Gospel to Blended Christian music.
Many times during rehearsals we are aware of the Holy Spirit in our presence
and we are grateful that God shows up as an audience of one. However,
God’s plan for the group came together in June 2009, after many
weeks of prayer and discerning what He would have us do. Thereby, the
answer came, when Wes Kohl (Lead), John Arnett (Baritone), and Steve
Meredith (Tenor) obeyed his call to ministry and service. It wasn’t
by mere circumstance that we came together, many things happened prior
to the organization of Eyewitness as a ministry team. With prayer, tears
and support from our Christian friends and family God made the decision
more clear. We thank the Lord that these prayer warriors extended themselves
and took time to pray for God’s guidance for the group. We will
always be a group of three that pray. We have seen what the power of
prayer will do, therefore, we become God’s Eyewitness to his wonderful
work and majesty.
It is our desire that you become a fan of Eyewitness and continue to
lift us up in prayer as we go out into the world and spread his gospel
and the good news to all who are seeking, hurting and needing God’s
perfect gift, “Salvation.”
Anchoring to his word, we are,

Meet the Guys
Growing
up in a military family, there was very little opportunity to attend
church and even less to hear gospel music. It has been over 30 years
since I came to a saving knowledge of the grace of God and his free
gift through the price he paid for me on Calvary. During that time
I grew to love Southern Gospel and Christian music. Though singing
in choirs and doing solos seemed to be just where I wanted to be,
God had other things in store. Little did I know where God would
lead me in the future, but he started me singing with local Southern
Gospel groups through my church and now with Eyewitness.
Having a grandmother who loved to hear the word of God sang in song,
whether with or without instruments, made my day. She started out and
ended her day singing the songs of Zion. What great memories I have of
her to share.
After being married in 1973, to a godly woman, my wife and I set
out to live for Him. Though we failed many times we knew
that he would always
have us sheltered in his hands. Now 37 years later, he has me right
where I need to be with my dear Grandmother and Mother looking
down from heaven
shouting down praises.
I am currently the proud father of two grown children, Chad and Heather
and God has blessed my wife Debbie and me with 3 beautiful grandchildren,
Logan, Carmen and Desray. Needless to say, my head does swell when
we show up at church with them, they are truly a blessing sent by God.
In the past 7 years, God has given me the promises of his word through
the scriptures of Jeremiah 33:3 and Jeremiah 29:11-13. I claim these
promises for my life daily because through him, I have everlasting
hope and his promise that I am a child of the King.
With much love and prayer for all who want to know about me, I offer
this biography.
Till we meet face to face,
Wes Kohl
I
grew up on a family farm in Hart County, KY. From this experience
I learned the value of hard work and how to trust God in everything.
I am grateful for the Christian influence that my Grandfather (a
preacher) and my family have been for me. I was saved in a little
white country church called Pine Grove Baptist Church and was then
baptized in the creek behind the church.
I
have always had a passion for Gospel music; this began when I first
heard Elvis Presley sing “Crying in the Chapel” on
TV in 1966. Since that time, Southern Gospel and Bluegrass Gospel have
been
a major influence on my life.
I
am blessed with four children and my beautiful wife Leticia. She
is a big supporter of this ministry. Without her
love and support, it would
be impossible to maintain God’s work. We reside in Louisville,
KY…for now.

Meredith
I
was born to humble beginnings in Simpsonville, SC. From this began a
love for all things Southern, especially food and music. My family moved
several times, but the majority of my youth was spent in Michigan. People
often ask why we moved so much. Mom was always trying to find the best
place for her kids, so as our needs grew and changed, so did our address.
I attribute my love for music to my grandmother,
Ella Nannberg. It was her singing of the old hymns of the church that
instilled a love for
this ancient art-form. From early years in Children’s church, I
was often given the opportunity to participate in special music. Sometimes
I had to have a step stool to be seen, but I managed to make my presence
known.
Through college and early adulthood, I participated in choirs and praise
teams, but always longed to share my gift and the love of Christ with
others. In 2004, I was given that opportunity with the Songsters Quartet
whom I sang with until 2006. As the baritone for Eyewitness, I strive
to make sure the harmonies are as tight as possible and that the message
of the music is presented without distraction.
When it comes to family, nothing is more important or dearer. My mother
Marie raised me, my brother Ray and my sister Carol. On August 26, 1995
I married my college sweetheart, Shelley. We now live outside Louisville,
KY. However, I still refuse to stop rooting for my favorite football
team, the University of Michigan Wolverines. Go Blue!
